Equarantacinque was born in Umbria, from the meeting of two territories and two people. And from a road that separates them and brings them together every day. The vineyards of Equarantacinque are not concentrated in a single location, but spread along the axis that connects Perugia and Terni. A choice that is first and foremost logistical, made of kilometers, constant travel, and daily work, yet one that has become an integral part of the project’s identity. The vineyards follow an ideal line crossing central Umbria, bringing different soils, altitudes, and exposures into dialogue. It is an equilibrium built over time, where differences are not corrected, but enhanced. Working together means always meeting halfway, comparing perspectives, discussing, and finding common ground. It is precisely there that Equarantacinque takes shape.

Giulio and Matteo founded Equarantacinque Vini by combining different skill sets with a shared passion for wine and the Umbrian territory. After complementary experiences—Giulio in the restaurant industry and at a local winery, Matteo as an entrepreneur who began experimenting in his own small vineyard—the two met at an event dedicated to wine and discovered a common vision: producing authentic wines, deeply connected to the land and made with a low-intervention approach.
Their collaboration led to the recovery of two hectares of abandoned vineyards in the municipality of Sangemini, complemented by small plots between Perugia and Terni, in different areas of Umbria, where they cultivate both indigenous and international grape varieties.
At the heart of the project lies sustainable vineyard management and an essential winemaking philosophy, minimizing intervention both in the vineyard and in the cellar. The goal is to enhance soil vitality, respect natural cycles, and produce wines that sincerely express the identity of the places where they are born.
